Alongu

Embracing the beauty of nature

Over countless generations, Japanese food culture has developed through a process of transformation, incorporating various styles and reinterpreting them in unique ways. The pursuit of tableware for this evolving cuisine is the inspiration behind Alongu, a brand designed by Jin Kuramoto. The lineup features plates, bowls and other vessels with carefully considered forms, referencing modern Asian tableware while accommodating a range of culinary styles. Community-centred approaches to manufacturing and farming in Hasami were another source of inspiration for the brand, which is committed to reducing waste throughout the production cycle.
